Both of the injured men were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where some people shot the attacker inside the hospital premises. Later, the deceased was identified as Abdul Rehman. The other man injured in crossfire, Imdad, also died in the hospital during treatment.
Soon after the incident, violence erupted and two policemen named Mohammad Qasim and Mohammad Tariq were injured during firing in the area. Protesters also set a number of vehicles and pushcarts ablaze. Abdul Razaq, 45, was gunned down in Gulshan-e-Bihar of Orangi Town in the limits of Pakistan Bazar police station. The deceased, an office-bearer of local market committee, used to live in the same area. Police said that the killing occurred near Masjid Khizra in Sector 16 of Orangi. The body was shifted to Abbasi Sahaheed Hospital for completion of medico-legal formalities.
Faizan,25, was shot dead by unknown armed men in the Gulberg area in the limits of Gulberg police station. Police said that the man had been killed while he was returning home after offering Fajr prayers near Shah Azam Masjid in same area. The body was shifted to Abbasi Sahaheed Hospital.
An unidentified man was gunned down in the Garden area near the Aga Khan Gymkhana in the limits of Garden police station. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for post-mortem examination. A CID sleuth, identified as Noorul Ameen, who was injured on resisting an armed robbery bid on Thursday, died at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre on Friday morning. The robbery attempt was made inside Police Lines in the limits of Frere police station.
